With years of pediatric-centered experience, I am skilled at providing providing play-based intervention for speech sound disorders and delays, phonological processing delays, language delays and literacy needs. I firmly believe in empowering families by sharing tools and tips for successful communication and literacy at home, at school, and beyond.

Screenings and Evaluations
Informal screenings can be performed to catch any possible issues with speaking, understanding language, or reading. Once the screening is done, the Speech Therapist will sit down with you, discuss the results, and give advice. If we see a need to get more information, we will do a thorough evaluation. After that, you will get a detailed report with all the test results, notes from our observations, background information, and suggestions on what to do next.
Therapy
Once the screening or evaluation results have been reviewed, the Speech Therapist will team up with you to create a personalized therapy plan to tackle any areas of concern. Therapy and intervention always stays up-to-date with the latest research and focuses on what you need and what interests you.

Speech Language Pathologist
Hello! I'm Darcy Ramsdell, a speech-language pathologist based in Wells, Maine. I have over a decade of experience working with children in the areas of articulation, phonology, language, and literacy.
Having had speech therapy myself when I was a child and then watching how my son’s communication skills increased by the help he received from his speech therapists, I knew that I wanted to help others achieve their communication and literacy goals as my career. I love helping families and working with kids of all ages. My approach to therapy is centered on nurturing, kindness, and integrating play-based activities to make sessions fun. Kids will actually enjoy coming to therapy and may not even realize they are working on the skills they need to become better communicators or readers.
Outside of work, I cherish time with my family in Wells, Maine. Mornings always begin with coffee, and leisure activities include traveling, reading, walking, and enjoying the outdoors, especially near the ocean, which brings me a sense of contentment and peace.
Flexible Service Options For Your Family
SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY METHODS
I presently offer in-person therapy services, teletherapy or a hybrid model in the Southern Maine region. Clients have the option for sessions either at my clinic space or via teletherapy, or a combination of both. Additionally, my services can be extended statewide through teletherapy.
At Clinic Services
You and your child will travel to my clinic for their therapy program. You are always allowed to sit in on therapy sessions to learn what your child is working on and to carry over skills at home. Consultation with caregivers and family members will happen at every visit.
Teletherapy Services
Known as ‘Teletherapy,’ remote sessions are very similar to traditional face-to-face speech-language sessions, but they are done with a computer or tablet device. Your clinician will implement your child’s current therapy plan with traditional activities, while technology enhances therapy to deliver high-quality services.
Hybrid Model
Our hybrid model blends In-Clinic services with Teletherapy services at a frequency that works for your family and your child’s therapy program. Both In-Clinic and Teletherapy services allow parents to observe us teach your child skills and then become the teacher for when we’re not around.
Insurance & Billing
At this time, I do not bill clients' insurance companies directly for therapy. All services are private pay only, and all fees are due at the time of service. However, I am happy to provide you with a monthly Super Bill. This documentation may allow clients to submit the charges on their own behalf for reimbursement through their insurance company.
