Screenings and Evaluations

Informal screenings are offered to identify potential deficits or delays in speech, language and literacy. After the screening is completed, the Speech Language Pathologist will review the results with you and provide recommendations. If the results indicate that further assessment is needed, we will provide a full evaluation. You will then receive a completed written evaluation report, complete with formal assessment results, informal observations, background information, and recommendations.

Therapy

Based on the results of the screening or evaluation, the Speech Language Pathologist will work with you to develop a customized therapy program to address areas of concern. Therapy is always based on current research and driven by the needs and interests of clients.

Darcy Ramsdell, M.S., CCC-SLP

Hello! I'm Darcy Ramsdell, a speech-language pathologist based in Wells, Maine. With over a decade of experience working with children in the areas of articulation, phonology, language, and literacy.

I received my master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and earned a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a concentration in language and literacy. I hold licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Maine and have attained a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Outside of work, I cherish time with my family in Wells, Maine. Mornings always begin with coffee, and leisure activities include traveling, reading, walking, and enjoying the outdoors, especially near the ocean, which brings me a sense of contentment and peace.

Flexible Service Options For Your Family

SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY METHODS

I presently offer in-person therapy services, teletherapy or a hybrid model in the Southern Coastal Maine region. Clients have the option for sessions either at my clinic space or via teletherapy. Additionally, my services can be extended statewide through teletherapy.

At Clinic Services

You and your child will travel to my clinic for their therapy program. You are always allowed to sit in on therapy sessions to learn what your child is working on and to carry over skills at home. Consultation with caregivers and family members will happen at every visit.

Teletherapy Services

Known as ‘Teletherapy,’ remote sessions are very similar to traditional face-to-face speech-language sessions, but they are done with a computer or tablet device. Your clinician will implement your child’s current therapy plan with traditional activities, while technology enhances therapy to deliver high-quality services. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take a more active role in your child’s therapy process!

Hybrid Method

Our hybrid model blends In-Clinic services with Teletherapy services at a frequency that works for your family and your child’s therapy program. Both In-Clinic and Teletherapy services allow parents to observe us teach your child skills and then become the teacher for when we’re not around (which is most of the time).

Insurance & Billing

At this time, I do not bill clients' insurance companies directly for therapy.  All services are private pay only, and all fees are due at the time of service.  However, I am happy to provide you with a monthly Super Bill.  This documentation may allow clients to submit the charges on their own behalf for reimbursement through their insurance company.
